A Quick Video of my 69 year old Father-In-Laws first time standing in a kayak. He has never felt comfortable enough to stand in any other kayak, but was able to stand and fish with ease in the Big Rig. There is also a shot of the 6 pond bass he caught two minutes later. jacksonkayak.com/jk-kayaks/kayak-fishing/big-rig/

I was curious to know the running time available on the same battery comparing the two motors against each other?

Looks like the Torqeedo scoots you along pretty good. What speed does it get up to and how long does a charge last?

They break the circuit up into three separate modules so you need to buy their battery which has part of the circuit you need to run it inside. This way you cannot use a generic battery and they charge you $1,000 for their battery. The cells are epoxied into the housing so you can't change them either. They also put the electronic speed control circuit in the lower unit that goes underwater. It leaks and that gets ruined. Repair is about what a new motor costs. They claim the 1003 is a 3 horsepower but it only consumes the equivalent of 1.25 horsepower. it cannot produce any more than that, its a 1.25 horsepower motor.

Hi, Great job on the boat. What I wanted to ask is which manufacturer, and where did you buy the hinged trolling motor mounts to secure your torqueedo to the rudder?

GREAT REVIEW! You did a superb job of comparison between motors, Nik!! It was VERY THOROUGH! The 1003 is a SUPERB motor, but design-wise, I don't particularly care for the fact that you are limited to a specific, pricy battery-pack that can ONLY be used with either motor. Further more,..I wonder if the Torqeedo system's DC power is efficiently maximized by employing Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) technology? That fact would be nice to know! Thanks Nik!! GREAT JOB!!

How does the pedal feature work with the motor attached to the rudder? Nice simple setup versus adding adapter kit and having to remove for transport. Does grass get caught around the motor prop and need to be cleaned off?

_This is my favorite summer purchase! I love that my legs sit on top of it rather than being enclosed. It is also very sturdy.•••>__allmy.tips/SevylorKayaks?ㅊㅎ__ The pump is amazing! It takes about 5 minutes to inflate. I do not use the backpack feature as I just leave it in my car anyway (and its easier than repacking). Also, I pump it at the car and cary it to the water since I do not want to take the pump with me on the Kayak. It does not compare to a hard one as far steering, but I can not get over how amazing this is that I can keep this in my car and just inflate and go! I LOVE THIS!_

How did you modify the hinge mounts? Looks like you have to cut a slot on one end to go on the rudder end and cut some of the other end off to keep it level?????
